How to enable TLS 1.2 support in SourceAnywhere?

Transport Layer Security (TLS), like the well known Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), is a protocol for secured data transfer.

SourceAnywhere 6.5 and earlier versions support 1.0 and 1.1 of TLS protocols. For customers who require high level security on the server side, some of them choose to disable TLS 1.0/1.1 and keep only TLS 1.2 available. As TLS 1.2 is not yet supported by SourceAnywhere 6.5, you may run into SQL database connection failure during installing the SourceAnywhere Server.

To fix the issue, please follow the steps below

1. Using v6.6 SourceAnywhere

The ZIP includes the installer for Windows GUI Client, Server Manager and SourceAnywhere Server.

2. Connect to your SQL Server using the 6.6 version SourceAnywhere Server. You should be bale to connect your database successfully now.

3. However, if you still fail to connect, please navigate to the installation folder of SourceAnywhere Server and open the sawsconfigure.ini file

Please find [Server Info] in the sawsconfigure.ini file and add the value to "Provide=" as shown below in red.

[Server Info]

After that, please open SourceAnywhere Service Configurator program, then stop and restart the service.
