SourceAnywhere service cannot be started.


When trying to start SourceAnywhere service, you may get following message.

SourceAnywhere service cannot be started.

Cause & Resolution:

There are several possible causes of this problem. Please verify the followings:

  • Verify the operating system logged in user account has administrative right to start service.

  • Verify the ports are not occupied by other applications (e.g. Skype).

  • Verify the Log On User of SourceAnywhere service is able to communicate with the SQL server. Learn more>>

    NOTE: Please make sure the Log on User to be added has sufficient rights to manage SourceAnywhere database on the SQL Server machine.
