Dynamic Web TWAIN Licensing Model

  • Editions
Dynamic Web TWAIN has three editions: ActiveX Edition, Plug-in Edition and Mac Edition.

ActiveX Edition is for use in IE (both 32bit and 64-bit) on Windows;
Plug-in Edition is for Firefox, Google-Chrome, etc. on Windows;
Mac Edition is for Safari, Firefox, Chrome, etc. on Mac.
  • License type
For each edition, there are two license types: Developer License and Web Server License.

Developer License: This license is intended for use on a development machine of all development activities including coding, testing and building of your application.

Please note: TRIAL license does NOT permit the development and distribution of any applications using Dynamic Web TWAIN.

Web Server License: Web Server License is for Web server* deployment. Every Web server deployment needs a Web Server License. After you deploy Dynamic Web TWAIN properly on your web server, the number of end users is not limited.

(*Here Web Server means a physical server.)
  • Stages
Development: Developer License is needed for development.

Test/QA: Web Server License can be used temporarily on Test/QA server. *

Production: Web Server License is needed for production (final deployment of the application).

(*The same web server license can later be used on a production server. But if the test/QA server needs to run alongside the production server, you need a special test license for it. You can send an email to sales @ dynamsoft.com for more info).
  • Pricing

  • How to choose which edition(s) to buy

(*Why bundles: to develop a web application, you will need both developer license and web server license. Bundles normally save you about 13% ~ 38.14% off the purchase fee.)
