Symptom:

When you attempt to open a solution under source control by double clicking the .sln file, you may get the following error message:

Cause:

The temp files of Visual Studio are not up to date.

Resolution:

To solve the problem, please delete the files under the following folders and try again. Here we take Visual Studio 2008 for example.

1. C:\Documents and Settings\{User}\Application Data\Microsoft\VisualStudio\9.0 (If you are using Windows 7/Vista, it is "C:\Users\{User}\AppData\Local\Microsoft\VisualStudio\9.0").

2. C:\Documents and Settings\{User}\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\VisualStudio\9.0

3. C:\Documents and Settings\{user}\Local Settings\Temp
