I already have VS 2008 Shell (isolated mode) installed. Why it still asks for Visual Studio 2008 Shell when installing SCM Anywhere Standalone 1.0 Client?

Symptoms

You may get the following message saying Visual Studio 2008 Shell is required when you installing SCM Anywhere Standalone Client, while you already have Visual Studio 2008 Shell (isolated mode) installed.

Cause

The Visual Studio 2008 Shell (isolated mode) is not installed successfully.

Resolution

This is a common installation issue. After you download the vs_ideredist.ext from Microsoft's website, running the program will extracts the installation files to "VS 2008 Shell Redist/ Isolated Mode" by default or to the folder you specified. You need to run the "vs_shell_isolated.enu.exe" in that folder to install VS 2008 Shell. Many of our users miss this step.

After you installed the VS 2008 Shell (isolated mode) successfully, you will be able to install SCM Anywhere Standalone Client.
